Use of Sullage for Non-Potable Purpose

Recycle your household water is smart and

simple. Greywater (sullage) is one of the
important
component
of
domestic
wastewater which does not contain the
toilet effluent. The average 40 gallons of
water per day use by one person to bathe,
clean clothes and dishes. Unfortunately,the
water of typical household always goes
straight down the drain. So,by reusing
wastewater is an appropriate treatment that
can be applied. It is crucial to generate the
use of wastewater as home systems. Refer

Non-potable purpose water is not drinking
water quality but it still can be used for
ohter purpose depend on its quality. The
aim of treatment of greywater which is
simple, cheap and have minimum
maintainance , for example non biological
treatment technology.The concentration of
contaminants up to non-potable standard
can bring to grey water treatment that
consist coagulation, followed by
sedimentation, absorption , filtration and
ion exchange.
The simplest method to reuse the
greywater by collect water in a dish pan by
handwash dishes and then toss it over
flowerbeds or fruit trees. This is a very
simple, inexpensive way to tap into
greywater .But,with just a little effort and
expense ,we can capture much more water.

It has been found that one third of the

world suffering from water shortage.The
reasons behind of this fact can be said
come from us such as increase demand for
water, rapid growth rate population and
uncontrolled use of water.Other uncontrol
reasons are inadequate rainfall and climate
change. Thus, there is need to develop a
design requiring minimal maintainance
that can be used by residential building for
treat their wastewater. The treated water
can be reused for domestic purpose such as
gardening , flushing and washing floor. The
reuse of domestic sullage for non-potable
purpose after treatment can be drastically
reduce the burden on natural available
water.Figure 2 below show the advanced
greywater treatment that we can applied;

As conclusion, there is so much wastewater
can be generated from our house. Home
owners who recycle their greywater will
save significant amount of water and
money over the time. So, Lets Start Now!
