Formative and Summative Assessment for A Very Hungry Caterpillar
Since we have been learning about logical order through a series of stories,
animal cycles, days of the week, and creating time sequence pattern organizers it
is time for the students to answer predicting questions and place important
events of the story in logical order by recalling facts. Using the story The Very
Hungry Caterpillar and class sequence pocket chart generate a retelling story
rope indicating important events in logical order. In addition to your retelling story
rope, create your own food diary of what you ate in logical order in accordance
with the days of the week. Include a graphic organizer depicting your diary. If time
permits, place pre-made butterfly cycle pieces in the correct logical order by
recalling events in the story.
