August 8, 1513 I gained permission by the Spanish Crown to explore an

island called Bimini, I am in search for a rumored fountain that will

restore health, beauty, and, best of all, age! Yes a wondrous sight to
see! I've heard it rumored by the natives in San Juan, but i don't know
if I should trust them. I am acting on my instinct and taking the trip. My
men ask whose financing the trip and how much supplies do we are
carrying. The trip is payed for by the Spanish Crown. I am taking fifty of
the healthiest, strongest young men I could find in San Juan. I've taking
two months' supplies; I hope I calculated right so we don't run out. We
are preparing to sail off now. ~ Juan Ponce De Leon
