Commuter Assistant Training Program Overview

Day One: Team Work and Commuter Workshop

Objective: Build cohesiveness in the group of Commuter Assistants, and help CAs
gain clarity of their role.

Day Two: Title IX/Safe Zone Training

Objective: Establish a base line for CA knowledge to be used in program and


training evaluation, and to promote equity for all WVU students.
Location: Mountain Lair or Commuter Lounge

Day Three: SORTS Training and Commuter Library Resources

Objective: Promote academic resources available to WVU students that will


positively impact commuter student retention.

Day Four: Transportation and Parking, Accessibility Services

Objective: Familiarize CAs with WVUs transportation plan and alternative modes
of cross campus travel.

Objective: Allow CAs to gain basic knowledge of university departments utilized by


all students.

Objective: Familiarize CAs with communication guidelines and expectations.
