My name is Cliff Hudson and it is with great pleasure that I will be
joining you as an administrative intern this year. I am a fellow with the Northeast Leadership Academy (NELA) at NC State University and have been placed at SCMS as part of my masters degree program. I am passionate about education and I believe that schools are the building blocks for our students success in the community.
I have been a teacher for 10 years mainly as a high school
Earth/Environmental Science teacher at Williamston/Riverside High School, though I taught 7th and 8th grade science at Jamesville Middle School for 1 year. I am aware of the struggles our students face but I believe through great teachers and school staff that they can be successful. I love watching students experience success through hard work.
I became a lateral entry teacher after I received my B.A. in Biology
from Barton College in Wilson, NC (Go Bulldogs!). I had exceptional K-12 teachers and college professors that helped me understand the importance of education while making me feel important along the way. I feel that it is our jobs as educators to prepare and inspire the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and productive citizens.
I believe effective teachers are the greatest factor in student
achievement and that learning occurs because of the positive relationships between students and staff. This is a great staff that I am privileged to be a part of and believe that we can learn and grow from each other. I look forward to working with all of you and having a great year.
