Students
MST:

Prior Knowledge (What prior knowledge are you building in?)

According to my MST, I will teach them how to use the Microsoft application from the beginning, but
they already have some skills on some of those elements as they maybe used them before for school
or college uses.

Lesson Objectives: (What will students be able to do by the end of the lesson?)

Recognize what is Microsoft Word.

Give examples of Microsoft word uses.
Discover how to use Insert, home, layout, and view parts in the ribbon.
Create a document with colored, various size, font and highlight text, borders and pictures .

Evaluation / Assessment: (How will you know your students have achieved the
lesson objectives?)
After the workshop, I will give the students a task to create a page with all the elements they have
learnt in the workshop, it will be attached with the lesson plan, at the end of the workshop I will ask
them for what they will use it and when.
Personal focus (relate to your PDP, state the goal and explain your actions specific to
this lesson):
In this lesson I am working on my constructivism in the class, I will let the students do the activities and check each others
work, I will let the students explain and distinguish between the tool in the ribbon as they are using the MS Word but they dont
know many features which will make creating a document very easy. Also, I will use the new body language that I learned from
reading about how the teacher should use the body language, they are, walk around in the class, use different tones when I
talk and different pitches.

Teaching Competencies focus (relate to specific competencies, state the competency

area, explain your focus and actions)

In this lesson I am working on Implementing and managing learning where I will explain the uses of MS word and
how to use it, show them some examples like the documents that I create them before. Use strategies to support
learning like linking the lesson to real life. For example if you have a long report and you need to add index,
cover page and numbering the page you dont need to count and write, MS word made that easy with some
features are available.
Monitoring and assessments by walking around in the class which I will use it as PDP goal to make sure all the
students are doing well and understood the lesson, after the lesson I will give them an assessment sheet to
complete it as a homework, and if they struggled they can email or come to me to teach them.
I will use different learning styles, I will use pictures for clarification videos and numbers.
After the lesson I will discuss with the MST about the lesson and what do I need to improve and what is good.

Teaching Strategies: (these are important to define so you create an positive and
supportive learning environment during the lesson)

Teaching strategies: active learning, I will let the students participate with each other in the activities and help
each other, they also will correct the mistakes that they did and explain for the students about the tool box.
Classroom management strategies: it will be in the theater room in the ILC.
Behavioral management strategies: they are adults, they will chit chat so I will stop them and make them busy

by giving them an exercise to explain what are the ribbon elements for classmate.
Feedback strategies: ask them question related to their previous knowledge and praise who answered correctly.
What do you need for teaching & learning?
Materials & Resources: worksheet, Emaze and the connecter to connect with TV.
Technology integration: using the data show for the PowerPoint.
