PROPOSED PROJECT:
Education is vital for everyone because it provides stability in life. The significance
of education to all people is that it helps people to become better citizens. Lastly, the
education of each person is something that cannot be taken away by others. Thus, the
education of every one of us will be our greatest treasure in life.
In addition, two organizations supported and stated that every human being should
have the right to education, the two organizations are- The Universal Declaration of
Human Rights and The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
IIII. BACKGROUND:
IV. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of our program, participants should be able to:
VI. PARTICIPATION
This community-based assessment focused on closing the gap and teaching those
children who don't know how to read and write. The data collection was collected from
the locals, Barangay Secretary, Teacher in the Nursery, and other staff in the Barangay
Hall of Pogo Chico. The key participants in the said educational program which includes
a reading and writing program are the fifty-two (52) nursery students- the total
population of nursery students of Barangay Pogo Chico Day Care Center.
PREPARATORY ACTIVITIES:
The following are the preparatory activities that the group will be doing:
Registration and Listing of Participants (Children), Setting up the event place, Setting up
the school supplies needed, and Ice breakers.
The educational program will happen in the following order of events: Opening
Prayer, National Anthem, Welcome Address, Introduction and Starting to Guide and
Teach Children, and Closing Remarks.
Thus, we assume that the project will impact the participants- especially children in
understanding the significance of writing, reading, and their right to write and read so
that children will become better communicators overall, and it also helps to improve
their skills.
The following is the breakdown of the budget requirements needed for the program:
BUDGET PROPOSAL:
The total contribution allowed for snacks and school supplies is one thousand and
nine hundred forty-one and twenty-two (1,941.22) pesos. Each of the members will
provide one hundred (100) pesos for the said snacks and school supplies.
Group 1 assures that the contributions collected will be used for the next program
or project to NSTP.
PLANNING:
Upon meeting and discussing the reading and writing program with Barangay Pogo
Chico Officials, we will coordinate with their teaching staff to accomplish the said
project. The assigned group will voluntarily teach the pupils of the Pogo Chico Child
Development Center in terms of reading and writing. Each member will solemnly guide
the kids on how to read properly and writes correctly. With the assistance of their
teacher, we will subsequent with the materials or modules they have. We will make
them experience having fun while learning. We will focus on every student so that they
will achieve better intellectual capacity. We aim to bring out the best in them by honing
their skills and inspiring them to pursue their passion.
IMPLEMENTATION:
Group 1 will assist the students of the Pogo Chico Child Development Center in their
reading and writing skills. The objective of this educational literacy program which
includes a reading and writing program is to help children learn and to have knowledge
about the significance of everyone's reading and writing skills. In addition, this program
focuses on children's learning and care to ensure their safety and bright future. Thus,
the Group 1 National Service Training Program Students of Lyceum-Northwestern
University choose this kind of program because it aims to focus on guiding the children's
education.
EVALUATION:
Group 1, which is Team NARDA, will be conducting a Reading and Writing at Pogo
Chico Child Development Center. This project proposal is all about tutoring and guiding
students for free. In short, it's gonna be one-on-one learning. The tutoring will start
every Monday morning from exactly 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will teach the children
how to read and teach them basic tracing and colors. This program will surely benefit
the kids and will have a big help in preparing the students for preschool.

I. General Information
A. Proponents
B. Type of Project
C. Project Site
D. Beneficiaries
The beneficiaries of Group 1- Team NARDA for their Educational Literacy Program
are the students and children of Pogo Chico Child Development Center. It consists of
male and female children ages three to five years old.
E. Target Participants
The target participants of Group 1- Team NARDA for their Educational Literacy
Program are fifty students and children of Pogo Chico Child Development Center ages
three to five.
F. Contact Persons
The success of Team NARDA Educational Literacy Program was not be successful
without the help of their contact persons- which are: Barangay Secretary Mr. Rene L.
Lopez, Barangay Sk Chairman Ms. Jasmine N. Calaguin, and Teacher of the children Mrs.
Venus Arceta.
The Educational Literacy Program of Team NARDA was conducted last November 14,
2022, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Pogo Chico Child Development Center.
Having observed the community and the situation of the children in Barangay Pogo
Chico, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, last October 03, 2022, it appealed to our senses that
there is a huge problem concerning lack of reading and writing skills for the children in
the said area. The reading and writing skills of the children in Barangay Pogo Chico are
true of importance, and it needs to be emphasized and given much time and attention.
While conducting our survey of the barangay officials and other families in the
barangay, we noticed that almost everyone answered "a lot of children lack writing and
reading skills" when asked how many children lack writing and reading skills. In the area
we visited, there is a lack of personnel who will teach children how to read and write
and enhance their reading and writing skills. Thus, Group 1- Team NARDA decided to
choose a project in the field of Educational Literacy Programs, which includes Reading
and Writing to at least lessen the number of children who lack enhancing their reading
and writing skills.
We planned for the betterment of our target area, which was made possible by our
joint efforts in initiating an Educational Literacy Program that spoke out our advocacy.
Little by little, with joined hands from our group and the barangay officials and teacher
of Barangay Pogo Chico, we were able to work things out. We provided some school
supplies, including ABAKADA, pencils, colors, sharpeners, and more, so children will be
able to practice and enhance their reading and writing skills. We started teaching and
guiding the children of Pogo Chico Child Development Center on how to write and read
last November 14, 2022. We were also able to inculcate in the minds of children the
proper way of reading and writing skills to improve their speed and comprehension.
B. Objectives
C. Planning
Upon meeting and drafting plans with the members of Group 1 Team NARDA from
2nd year Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management Bravo students, they decided to
choose a literacy program. The plan of Group 1 Team NARDA for the said duty in their
National Service Training Program is Educational Literacy Program which includes the
Reading and Writing Program.
D. Evaluation
After drafting and planning for the said Educational Literacy Program, the team
leader- Mr. Mark Gevy Candelario, together with his seven (7) other members of Team
NARDA, decided to go to Barangay Pogo Chico last October 03, 2022. The reason was to
conduct a survey and ask permission from Barangay Captain Calixto G. Fernandez
regarding the Educational Literacy Program. After a short meeting with the Barangay
Caption and other Officials of the said Barangay, Team NARDA also had a meeting with
the Teacher of Pogo Chico Child Development Center- Ma'am Venus Arceta.
Furthermore, after finalizing and joining forces with Ma'am Venus and Barangay
Officials regarding the plan for the Educational Literacy Program, Team NARDA
evaluated and drafted their plan concerning their divided tasks and needed materials
for the said program. In addition, upon discussing with the whole team, each member
decided to donate materials that will be given as a gift to the children at Pogo Chico
Child Development Center.
E. Implementation
Last October 27, 2022, the team leader of Team NARDA, together with his one (1)
member, go to the Barangay Pogo Chico, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, to give the letter to
Barangay Captain Calixto Fernandez and Ma'am Venus Arceta- Teacher of Pogo Chico
Child Development Center. Continuation, members of Team NARDA decided to meet
and go to the supermarket to buy snacks, candies, and materials they need for their
Educational Literacy Program. In addition to that, packing the school supplies to be
given to the children of Barangay Pogo Chico was the next activity that Team NARDA
members did. Lastly, calling out for a meeting before the execution of the said program
was held in order for the program to be successful.
F. Execution
Team NARDA's second duty, which is the Educational Literacy Program, includes the
Reading and Writing Program, which was held last November 14, 2022. For the
execution of the plan, Team NARDA members gathered in front of the National Service
Training Program (NSTP) Office to wait for the members to be completed before going
to Barangay Pogo Chico, Dagupan City, Pangasinan, to conduct their assigned program.
The Educational Literacy Program which includes the Reading and Writing Program-
was the second project proposal of Team NARDA. It was exactly 8:55 am on November
14, 2022, that Team Narda came to Pogo Chico Child Development Center.
To start the program, the team leader, together with his secretary, started the
program by introducing themselves to the children for their familiarization and
socializing. After introducing themselves, they began to follow the flow of the program
they created, which was- by doing a prayer. At first, other members of the team faced
and encountered children who were crying because of shocked and shy, but later on,
members of Team NARDA became close to the children as they played together.
In addition, tasks were also divided and assigned to each member, giving and
distributing the reading and writing materials, giving and distributing the snacks,
checking and guiding the children for their activities, playing with children, and eating
with children. Also, there were team members who were assigned to take pictures and
videos for documentation purposes during the whole execution of the program.
All in all, during the execution of the duty, we, therefore, conclude that the
Educational Literacy Program was successful. Even though the program didn't execute
smoothly, it was still successful because children were able to write, read, and finished
their activities with the help of Team NARDA.

A. Findings
The progress in the Educational Literacy Program of the children in Barangay Pogo
Chico, Dagupan City, was evaluated based on the changes and improvements that
occurred in the reading and writing skills of children after the implementation of the
said program conducted by the Team NARDA.
Of course, the project was successful because Team NARDA coordinated with the
local officials in every move they made. The children in Pogo Chico Child Development
Center happily and actively joined and participated because they gain knowledge on
enhancing their reading and writing skills as long as receiving gifts from the Team
NARDA.
B. Conclusion
After taking up National Service Training Program (NSTP), group 1- Team NARDA
has been aware of the different crises hitting different communities. There are food
problems, medical needs, business predicaments, money dilemmas, corruption, waste
disposal, transportation inconveniences, poverty, education problems, and many more.
Even some citizens in the community blame the local government for not making
solutions to the current issues. And as the saying goes, if we want a change, change
must start from us.
C. Recommendations
The following recommendations are offered based on the findings and conclusion of
the project.
1. That there must be a specific person to teach the children in front regarding how to
pronounce and read properly the given words in the reading materials presented to
them.
2. Parents of the children must be seated and waited outside the classroom for the
NSTP students to teach and guide the children appropriately without being shy.
3. Future NSTP students who will implement this kind of project should have a good
and clear plan.
4. That there must be a specific person to teach the children in front regarding how to
write properly the given words and letters in the writing materials presented to them.
