Bonnie and OConnell in conjunction with National Research Council (U.S.) look into the issue
of underage drinking in America. The authors look at possible ways of mitigating the vice
among the American youth. The book highlights need for pursuing the issue through a
collaborative approach incorporating various stakeholders. The book is insightful as it
incorporates a number of statistics and projections from that have been evidenced in this current
year.

Boyle, P. (2013). Alcohol: Science, policy and public health. Oxford: Oxford University Press.
Peter Boyle looks at the alcohol issue from an historical perspective. The author further offers
insight into alcoholism as a public health problem bringing in scientific knowledge in order to
highlight the prevalence and dangers posed by the ice. It also looks at the social aspects of
alcoholism and its correlation to family history and issues.

dynamics at play in the underage drinking problem in America. The report provides the much
needed credence to the research. It looks at the prevalence of underage drinking and the number
of deaths linked to this phenomenon.

results on research into underage binge drinking in adolescents. The article highlights the
pivotal role that family doctors can play in noting the signs of underage drinking in many
underage youth at early stages. The authors draw correlation between family history and
underage drinking. Cases of family members that abuse alcohol are cited to be linked to
underage alcoholism.

The book looks into the concerted efforts made by various individuals in countering underage
drinking. Published by the Alcoholic Beverage Control, the book looks at ways to ensure that

alcohol-related laws are effected so as to prevent underage drinking. The author looks at
underage drinking as a problem which can be avoided through collective responsibility from
parents, institutions of learning and authorities. The inefficiencies in the society are linked to
underage drinking which the author posits is a problem that can be mitigated if every party did
its part.
