Mission- Pencils of
Promise (PoP) believes
every child should have
access to quality
education. We create
schools, programs, and
global communities
around the common goal
of education for all.
Vision- To rally millions
of people in support of
those in need of
education in
impoverished areas
around the world.

Quick Facts
Since 2008, PoP has impacted the lives of
over 300,000 people in the communities
they work in. They only choose
communities that are politically and
socially stable, willing to invest time and
effort into childrens education and
display a measurable need.
Every 90 hours they break ground on a
new school. Over 300 schools are
successfully operating in the four areas
of impact.
E-Readers are available to every student
to provide access to more than 50 books.
This is much more than could be
provided in physical form for them, and
the students are reading two times as
much as before.
100% success rate- each school that is
built is closely monitored to ensure its
success and sustainability.
100% direct giving means every dollar
raised online goes directly to the cause.
All administration costs are covered by
their partnerships with the previously
mentioned companies.

Room to Read
Room to Read seeks to transform the lives of millions of children in developing countries
by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with
local communities, partner organizations and governments, we develop literacy skills and
a habit of reading among primary school children, and support girls to complete secondary
school with the relevant life skills to succeed in school and beyond.
buildOn
Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through
service and education. We empower urban youth to transform their neighborhoods through
intensive community service and to change the world by building schools in some of the
economically poorest countries in the world.
Hug it Forward
Hug It Forward is a grassroots organization that facilitates education and awareness by
empowering communities to build "bottle schools" using "eco-bncks" made from plastic
bottles stuffed with inorganic trash Entire communities come together to make the dream
of educational opportunity a reality. We strive to raise awareness in developed countries
about trash, consumption and the power of community.
Free The Children
Free The Children believes in a world where all young people are free to achieve their
fullest potential as agents of change. We are a charity and educational partner that
empowers youth to remove barriers that prevent them from being active local and global
citizens. Our domestic programs educate, engage and empower hundreds of thousands of
youth in North America and the UK.
