ADAPTIVE EQUIPMENT
Adaptive equipment is one area of
tools that OT uses to enable a client
with a disability to perform an action
A reacher is one example of an
adaptive device
We need two volunteers

SCHOOLING
SLCC is the only accredited school in UT with an OTA
program
OTA program is a 2 year course not including
prerequisites
Prerequisites: Anatomy, Biology, Communication,
English 1010, Math 1010, Psychology and Intro to OTA
Application requirements: HESI, Letter of
Recommendation, Community Service Project,
Background Check, Immunization, CPR & First Aid
Certification
OT labs are awesome! They include Wheelchair
Adventures, Vision Scavenger Hunt, Deficit Breakfast,
Service Learning Projects and involved nationally in
the annual AOTA conference
