Competency 012: The teacher enhances professional knowledge and skills by

effectively interacting with other members of the professional community and

participating in various types of professional activities.
Interacts in a professional manner with other professionals in their school and community. Gives
support to other professional colleagues and works together with them to achieve the best way to
support student learning. Participates in school activities to show support for the school and to
set a good example. Uses professional development resources when and where they are
available. Does a self-assessment and pushes to achieve professional goals that are based on
strengths and weaknesses.
Examples:

Work with your team to develop the best method of teaching a particular topic or lesson.
Work with a mentor to help when just beginning.
Use all the available resources available to ensure the best learning experience for the
students.
Help with a school fundraiser, or help with student council, etc.
