To whom it may concern:

I highly recommend Jennifer Ortega as a teacher candidate for Isaac School District. I have worked with
Jennifer for the past year. I have served as her professor in courses that address literacy development,
language diversity in the classroom, and parent/community involvement.
Jennifer has demonstrated a great interest in exploring opportunities to reach students from linguistically
diverse and low socioeconomic backgrounds. Through my experience in working with Jennifer on a
variety of topics and objectives, she has always demonstrated her determination and to put forth her best
effort. During the last three semesters I have worked with Jennifer, she has proven to also be a very
dedicated student. Her performance has also stayed consistent throughout her senior year residency. I am
very confident in stating that Isaac School District will greatly benefit from hiring an exceptional, well
rounded, and responsible individual.
During our work together Jennifer has worked with 2nd and 3rd grade English Language Leaners (ELLs),
in a dual language classroom, in furthering their literacy development. Jennifer was always well prepared
to create purposeful experiences with these young learners. She has also participated in discussion,
critique, and research on issues related to language variation in schools. Jennifer has had extensive
experience from various perspectives in working with populations predominantly found in Title I schools.
Her interest and dedication to this specific population have exemplified her preparation and commitment
to making a difference in the educational experiences of these students.
I am fully confident that Jennifer Ortega will perform as a future elementary educator to the best of her
ability. I fully agree she has been adequately prepared and will utilize her knowledge and experience to
succeed in the classroom. I recommend Jennifer with no reservation. If you have any further questions
regarding her qualifications or character I would be happy to discuss her accomplishments more in depth.
Sincerely,

Alexandria Silva
