Social Responsibility arm of Hyundai Motor India Limited,
has further reiterated its commitment to Tamil Nadu by
launching fresh initiatives. HMIF launched two new
programs’ Project Go Green” and “Adoption of Model
Villages”. These two programs are the latest addition to
other ongoing projects such as community development,
road safely, education and healtheare.
On the occasion, HMIF also welcomed the 7th batch of
120 Korean Happy Move volunteers, who worled on
Upgrading living and sanitation conditions of villages and
schoolsin thevarious districts of Tamil Nadu,
Project “Go Green” is an income generating tree planting
project with a difference. Undertaken slongwith TIST, the
project envisages cistributing onelakh saplings to farmers
ina phased manner. The farmer will plant the sapling on
his lang holdings and be paid by HIMIF for its upkeep and
maintenance. The proceeds from sale of the produce will
add tofis income,
The ‘Adoption of Madel Village’ scheme focuses on
sonitation and income generation. Five needy villages and
three of their hamlets in the Kancheepuram district have
been identified under this scheme, The villagers will be
provided with individual toilets and given lessons in
hygiene. Schools will be provided with safe drinking water.
Women’s self help groups will be provided support and
guidance to make their projects commercially viable and
ensure income for the members.
‘Asa part of HMIF's ongoing support to education projects,
the Foundation has donated 450 sels of benches to
government schools across thestate, 200 tablesand chairs
to teachers of SO schools and fas also undertaken
responsibilty of sinking of 10 bore wellsat middle schools.

Hyundel Motor Company achieved its best results ever in the 2011 Vehicle Dependability Stualy
(YDS) conducted by market research firm JD Power, In the siudy released some time back this year,
Hyundai scored 132 points, 8 16-point improvement from 2010, landing at 3rd place.
