Review: music concert Vamos a trabajar hoy un writing que es de un seguidor de la Web del Inglés, Javier, al cual voy a dar las gracias por querer ‘compartir su conocimiento y aprendizaje con todos los demas seguidores de la web, MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS! Javier me pedia que le corrigiera este writing, que es para el ‘examen First Certificate de Cambridge, que os recuerdo que es un nivel B2, segtin el Marco Comtin de Referencia Europeo. Simplemente deciros que las notas rojas, si estén tachadas es Porque son errores, y cuando no lo estan, es algo que se deberia haber puesto y no estaba. Las notas azules, en cambio, son aspectos positivos para nivel B2. Alld vamos! Se trata de un report sobre un music concert. Las instrucciones del writing son las siguientes: Have you been to a great music concert recently? Write us a review of the concert telling us about the band or singer and their performance. Say whether you would recommend seeing them perform live. We will publish the best review next month. Ithad been a long time ago since I hadn’t attended any a live concert. Fortunately, my brother got two RIO tickets to be able to see artists such as Rihanna or Guetta. I'd have always been keen on pop music ‘even though I'd never attended any so important. Firstly, to tell the truth, once we set foot on the enclosure, what we liked most was the marvellous atmosphere. Nevertheless, all of a sudden, the microphone stopped to work working properly and the concert was called off for a while. Shortly afterwards, the problem was fixed but it started to rain heavily so as, which it ended up messing up the performance. Moreover, in our case we didn’t get have neither raincoats nor any a place to hide ourselves from the pouring rain, therefore we refused to stay there for the sake of our health. In sum, it was a disappointed disappointing experience in terms of quality and performance. Even so, I'd recommend it to you because it is worth turning up to at RIO once in a lifetime although it we had better know the weather forecasting before attending. NOTAS: 1. El writing esté bastante bien para el nivel. Tanto en estructura, ordenado en parrafos, como a nivel gramatical y de vocabulario, me gusta bastante! Hay cosas muy buenas. Todo lo que te sefialo en azul es positivo, y como ves, hay muchas. Hay una gran variedad de conectores: even though, nevertheless, all of a sudden, shortly afterwards, therefore, in sum, even so = todos conectores buenos y algunos de bastante nivel. 2. Vocabulario, cosas buenas: += Keen on + Set foot on = End up + Mess up + Interms of + Once ina lifetime 4, Aspectos a mejorar: + Ithad been a long time ago since | hadn't attended any a live concert = had been debe ser en past perfect, porque es un tiempo anterior. Tienes dos referencias verbales, cuando fuiste al concierto yuna anterior, que es que hacia mucho tiempo que no habias estado en un concierto, como esta idea es anterior al momento de estar en el concierto (también pasado en el momento en que escribes el writing), debe ir en past perfect. Y no se dice ago, simplemente: it had been a long time + since. + Any ya = para poner any, debemos tener detras un sustantivo plural contable, o singular incontable, pero si tenemos un sustantivo que es singular contable, ponemos a. + I'd have always been keen on pop music = he puesto present perfect, en lugar de past perfect como ti habias puesto, porque a ti atin te gusta la miisica pop, por tanto, “siempre me ha gustado’, y no “siempre me habia gustado”, no? + ...what we liked most was... = what = lo que + the microphone stopped to work working properly = para ver la diferencia entre stop + ing 0 stop + to infinitive, te recomiendo la siguiente explicacién de la Web del Inglés: http:/Mlawebdelingles.com/nivel-b 1/el-verbo-stop-con-infinitive-o-ing + the problem was fixed but it started to rain heavily so as, which it ended up = he optado aqui por una oracién de relativo. + Moreover, in our case we didn’t get have neither raincoats nor any a place to hide ourselves from the pouring rain = aqui he cambiado el verbo get por have, porque aqui tenemos dos ideas, una la de coger raincoats, y otra la de coger un lugar para cobijarte. Si tu quieres decir en la primera que no habias cogido un chubasquero, como eso es una idea pasado anterior a la del momento del concierto, deberia ir en past perfect (hadn't taken), sin embargo, la segunda idea, es coger cobijo en el mismo concierto, eso seria un pasado simple, por tanto habria que separar las frases, cada una con su verbo en un tiempo distinto. Por eso he optado por cambiar el verbo get por have, si decimos have, no teniamos chubasquero en el concierto, ni tampoco cogimos cobijo en el concierto, ambas ideas son en el concierto y las dos puedes ir en pasado simple. Como su frase es negativa (didn’t), no puedes poner neither. nor, porque son palabras negativas, y en inglés sdlo es posible una negativa en la misma oracién, por eso hay que poner either... or. El significado es el mismo. + Disappointed y disappointing. En este caso, “we”. Y esto es todo.
