Reiman Gardens
Reiman Gardens is a splendid view that welcomes people entering Iowa State
University and Ames from south. Located next to Jack Trice stadium it is spread over 17
acres of land. Reiman Gardens is one of the major university botanical garden in Iowa
and is counted among top university Gardens in United States. Reiman Gardens is the
part of the horticulture tradition of Iowa State University, It was built in the early 1990s.It
was possible because of Roy Reiman, An Iowa State alumni who graduated in 1957. Roy
Reiaman is the man who made this beautiful garden possible.
Reiman Gardens mission is To educate, enchant, and inspire an appreciation of
plants, butterflies, and the beauty of the natural world. It tries to work on it by
organizing events and activities through which they educate those who come to these
events. And also there are educational tours.
As a part of Iowa State University campus, Reiman Gardens staff tries to
participate in events and collaborates with a wide range of Iowa State university
departments such as Liberal Arts and Sciences and Agricultural Sciences. It holds
lectures, educational workshops and others features include offering a living laboratory to
Iowa states students. There is always some kind of event going on at Reiman Gardens
giving Amess people chance to learn and have fun with nature.

There are over 74 species of butterflies at Reiman Gardens. Reiman Gardens is
committed in protecting, promoting and conserving the native Midwestern butterfly
species. Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing is a small world full of colorful butterflies.
What could be more breathtaking than watching a butterfly coming out of a womb?
Besides the butterflies Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing also has very interesting trees
and plants that are host for butterflies. There is always something to learn at Reiman
Gardens you wont be disappointed if you visit. In fact I am planning my next visit
already.
