At the end of the lesson, a student should be able to :
1. List what he sees around him that is related to
science.
2. Explain the importance of science in everyday life.
1. Each student is provided with a thermometer.
Teacher asks : Can you name the instrument that you
are holding now?
Student answers : It is a thermometer.
Teacher asks : Do you know how it helps you in your
daily life?
Student answers : Yes, we can measure our body
temperature using the thermometer.
Teacher asks students to act like a doctor and measure
their partners body temperature. Teacher guides
students to place the thermometer under the armpit or
under tongue.
Teacher draws a table on the whiteboard and asks a
few students to write their findings.
Teacher asks : Now, please analyse the data. What
can you conclude about our normal body temperature?
Student answers : Based on the data, I think our
human body temperature is 37.0 degree celcius.
2. Group Activities
Teacher divides students into seven groups.
Each group is given with a task.
Task 1: Picture 1 [Group 1 and 5]
Name the thing in the picture. Discuss the advantages
that you discover. Transform your information into a
Circle Map.
Task 2 : Picture 2 [Group 2, 4 and 6]
Describe what is happening in the picture. Discuss
things that you should not do when it happens.
Transform your information into a Circle Map.
Task 3 : Picture 3 [Group 3 and 7]
Name the instrument that the man has in his hand.
Discuss how the instrument benefits you in your daily
life? Transform your information into a Circle Map.

3.Group representative presents their group


discussion to the class.
