Why I Love You

While the reasons we fall in love are

often a mystery, most people know what
they look for when choosing a partner.
This decision is often influenced by age,
gender and background. For example
when a 30+ year old man was surveyed
on what he found attractive in a partner
they listed personality traits, interesting
talents and if the person is healthy and
fit. When a 14-15 year old male was
asked, the response was if the person
had nice physical features (i.e. hair,
boobs, and butt). Although this may
sound very stereotypical, age can make
an influence on what we are attracted to.
In todays society teenagers are so
influenced by the media, dictating what
we should and shouldnt like, no wonder
the 14-16 boy were more superficial in
his answer. Its not till you reach an older
age to people really realize that looks
dont matter and its how someone acts
matters more than their looks.

Background
Love and attraction are frequently
influenced by background. For example,
if someone has had a scary experience
they may find someone that is protective
and carrying very attractive. Besides if
someone has something in common with

you whether its same religion, past

experience, same country of origin or
even same taste its more likely the
relationship will last as the couple will
have things that they enjoy doing and
talking together about. In general,
people find it attractive if another person
can relate to a moment or a problem.

Attraction of the Genders.

When surveying, surprisingly I found a
difference in the answers. Girls tended to
take their time, choosing more politically
correct things to say on personality and
characteristics and intelligents while
boys tended to quickly list things they
liked such as physical features and
talents.

In conclusion, attraction can be

influenced by many things such as life
experience and background, gender and

stereotypes and even age. Whatever

you find attractive is alright and no one
should ever judge you for it.
