MY OPINION:

a. Distinguish childhood from adolescent

For me, childhood from adolescent is about the stages or process in developing as time goes
by depending on our age. But childhood differs from adolescent because childhood is all about the
time of being a child where a child only needs to go to school and play. Being dependent of what their
family give to them. It is the time where we are innocent and only getting to learn new things around
us. The basic things like learning how to speak, walk, stand, etc. Wherein a child is learning base on
his/her experiences from whatever is modeled to them. Always having a lot of energy, imaginative
and is the phase of life that is the best because we are free to enjoy. Meanwhile, adolescent is from
age of 13 to 19 wherein the period of transition is between childhood and adulthood. Also known as
the puberty or teenage years. Children who are entering adolescence are going through many
changes, physical, intellectual, emotions and even in social development. Where a young person is
growing up into a teenager, likes to explore and experiment sometimes causing that person to lead
his/her life miserable. This is the time where secondary sex characteristic develops, being conscious
to his self or body, deciding by her own, very argumentative, has peer groups, has a lot of
responsibilities, others wants to be independent, Experiencing a shift in dependence on family to
dependence on peers, and lastly, always liking fads and being interested in popular culture going in
the society.

Childhood from adolescent is developing or a process of growth of the human individual. It is about
the stages in developing as time goes by depending on our age. Childhood are different to
adolescent. Childhood is all about the time of being a child where a child needs to go to school and
play. The time where we are innocent and only getting to learn new things around us. It is also to
grow strong with love and guidance by our parents. The phase of life that is the best because we are
free to enjoy. Meanwhile, adolescent is from age 13 to 19 wherein the period of transition is between
childhood and adulthood. It is usually beginning from our teenage years. It is also about going in a big
change to our body and the way on how we relate to the world. This is the time to explore and
experiment something causing that person lead his/her life miserable. More on experiencing like a
shift in dependence on family to dependence on peers and lastly, always liking fads and being
interested in popular culture going in the society.

b. what are the rights of the child that are most often violated? Why?
The rights of the child that are most often violated are right to be born because some women
especially teenagers who got pregnant accidentally don’t want a responsibility to raise a child, some
just only seek for sexual pleasures and aborting it to get away from that situation. Second is right to
an education because some families does not have enough money to meet the needs of their child
about the requirements of the school and also causing to violate the child to have the right of a
vigorous life because of the poor state they have. Right to protection against exploitation or harm,
some children are force to enter the battlefield of life where they need to work to sustain their hunger
and there are hazards outside the society, no one knows if you are going to meet a killer or a rapist,
some children are forced to have sex with different people that can cause a child to have a trauma
that can effect his physical and mental condition. Next is the right to grow up as a free individual, in
an atmosphere of peace to contribute to build a better world. Some parents hinder their child to have
the right to choose what will they be even though some says that parents know best but this hinders a
child to be free for him to speak out, to share his opinions.
C. Enumerate the principles of child development and learning.
The principles of child development and learning is all about the importance of areas in
development and learning because it follows sequences. On how children develop by accepting their
mistakes and continue their life. It is from the interaction of maturation and experience and it affects
the development and learning. Children tends to develop best when they have a secure relationship
from their family. As a matter of fact, many children are begging for love and attention especially to
their parents that is why when they have a problem, they tend to come to their parents for comfort.
Also, they learn in a variety of ways like being influenced by multiple social and cultural contexts.
Practices are also very significant in terms of progress and development. Lastly, play is an important
vehicle to them because it can enhance their language and social competence.
D. To what extent has the school participated in child advocacy?
We all know that family is our first teacher that is why every parent never stops to advocate or
remind their children no matter what their age is. From day and night, they are never tired to give
guidance from what is right or wrong. Advocacy is the act of speaking on the behalf of or in support of
another person, place, or thing. Wherein the school, our second home, has also a large role to
advocate the students. Meaning the school is helpful as it allows teachers or school personnel to fully
understand each student needs. It makes us understand the things we do not understand, who will
help us how to handle ourselves to become a better person. This is where the child will learn how to
be determined in life to equip a child for allowing her to decide which road to take someday. Also, it
helps the child to enhance his/her learning about everything, about their surroundings whatever term
it is, arts, science or technology but the school didn’t just want to enhance the students intellectual but
also their characters to build, to create an impact in the child’s behavior. For that student to become a
morally upright individual that will contribute to the society in the future. Lastly, school helps the
children on how to communicate properly, and we all know that communication is very important in all
matters.
