UNDERSTANDING EDUCATION CREDITS

After becoming certified with ASEA Central and you continue to be an active
instructor, you must stay current with your certification through continuing
education.

The types of events you can take and their credit values are as follows:

2 or more days on snow ASEA events/exams = 2 credits

2 or more days on snow Other Division ASEA events/exams = 2 credits
2 or more days on snow ASEA National events = 2 credits
1 or more days on snow/dryland (approved) NON ASEA events = 1 credit
1 day dryland ASEA event = 1 credit

How do you determine when you need to take another clinic to stay current?

Here are some examples:

If you have achieved 2 or more credits in the 2003/2004 Season, the credits will
expire* on 6/30/2006.

If you have achieved 1 credit in the 2003/2004 Season, the credits will expire* on
6/30/2005.

You can combine dryland and on snow clinics in the same season, but you will
only be awarded 2 credits total.

Exceptions:

Dryland and NON PSIA/AASI events cannot be taken every season as credited
events.

*The term to expire is in relation to the amount of time the credits allow you to go without having
to take a clinic. Members are not limited to taking more than one clinic, but can only receive a
maximum of 2 credits a season.

(Following on the next page is easy guide to help you determine when you need your next
continuing education clinic.)
EDUCATION EVENT CALCULATION FORM
How to use this form:

1. Take your last event(s) taken from the most recent season. (Example: Pat
took a two-day PSIA-C exam on December 13-14, 2003 and then took
another clinic on February 22-23, 2004. This would give Pat 2 credits
total. Remember you can take multiple events in a season, but you can
only be awarded 2 total credits.)

2. Now look at the calendar to find the season these credits where achieved
in. (In our example, Pat achieved these credits during the 2003/2004
Season.)

3. Now starting at the season your most recent credits where achieved,
count forward the number of credits awarded. (In our example, Pat s
credits achieved during the 2003/2004 Season would expire at the end of
the 2005/2006 season on June 30, 2006.)
