My goal is to inspire students to want to learn about art. I dont want my students to dread
coming into the classroom, feeling like they are forced to create something based on a specific
set of guidelines. In my classroom I want the students to be inspired to create works of art.
To be an art teacher, one should be aware of whom they are as a person and how that affects their
artwork before they are able to teach others about art. In my classroom, I do not wish to be seen
as merely an expert in art but rather as someone who can help inspire students and help them
facilitate their creativity into a piece of art. I believe that art should be accessible to all students
and not just to the students that show a natural talent for art. Ideally for me as a teacher I would
like to see art connected with other disciplines in schools as well.
