While reading the story, you as a teacher, will post the tweets on the Twitter account
you have made. The students should keep up with the tweets and should be able to
explain their connection with the story in class. Some tweets are helping the students
with their story and making it more visual because of the pictures we added. Other
tweets should be considered and thought of by the students and asks further
understanding of the story itself and the relationships between characters.
The pictures we used are all from the film 'The Great Gatsby' 2013 version. It is an
idea to watch this film in class and compare the novel and the film.
The students can follow Jay Gatsby on twitter but also re-tweet and reply on the
messages you post as teacher. So if they don't understand they can ask on Twitter. So
it is very doable outside class as well.
Besides the tweets we provided, you can always add your own ideas to it. Another
idea is to let the students make study questions themselves or come up with quotes
from the characters. There is also a lot of symbolism in the film and different themes?
Let students be creative with the Twitter page and let them add tweets as well. Let
them take control of their own learning progress. Just remember there are many
possibilities with this assignment, so change it any way you like!

Good luck you Old Sport!
