The Great Mosque of Cordoba

Some day i want to go to the Great Mosque of Cordoba and not just because its
beautiful, but the history behind it. When i go i want to feel like i'm going back in time. The
Mosque of Cordoba is a great example of Syncretism, because it is an Islamic Mosque in Spain,
where it is believed that the Roman God, Janus, temple stood and the temple was then converted
to a Cathedral and then a mosque and then they built a christian cathedral inside the Mosque,
thats pretty crazy! The mosaics are beautiful, because they were the same works as the
Byzantine artist. Also the used arabesque form of design and also theyre famous for the
horseshoe arches and their double tiered arches. The way they constructed the mosque is
beautiful, its like an architectural jewel and i never knew that there were mosque in spain, until i
read about the Great Mosque of Cordoba.
