Nicholas Church
This building has a long and interesting story. It is one of the oldest sacred buildings in the
city and is a monument of architecture. The church has remained unchanged until now. This
is one of the few buildings in the Old Town, which is preserved so well.
There are several thoughts about the creation of this church:
1) Some believe that it was Armenian and was built in 1398 and that its founders were
Armenian colonists.
2) Others say that the church was founded by the brothers Koriatovych, who at that time
were in Kamyanets-Podilsky.
3) And some scientists believe that this church was founded earlier than our city.
The church was attacked by various invaders of the Ukrainian lands, several times it was
destroyed and completely restored in 1900.
Also in this church there was a school for girls, but now in our time there is a Sunday school
here.
But in 1962 the temple was closed and used for storage purposes. Only in 1997 the building
was thoroughly restored. In 2000, several artists created a beautiful interior decoration.
Church architecture
Nowadays, church, in spite of the reconstruction in the early 20th century, were preserved
the main features of the 14th century church architecture. At first, she also performed the
role of a defensive structure, therefore has strong walls and small windows. Near the church
there is a tiered bell tower. Its height is 19 meters.

If you want to find this church in the city, you can take advantage of public transport or a
taxi. You need to go to the Old Town area, before stopping the "Armenian market". From
there you have to walk to the church.

I often visit this church and I feel very well and calm in it every time. I am sure that this
place contains something secret that is associated with its history.
