Saint Peter of Alcantara Parish Church

Architectural Style: It is constructed in the Corinthian and Ionic architectural

orders.

Observation:
• The church's side entrance is elaborately designed with classical Corinthian
columns and cornices across a sculpted floral stone
• The main retablo is painted in white and has a pantheon of 14 saints
housed in an elaborately carved niche with the Archangel Michael towering
above
• The church museum contains clothes, perfumes, jewelry, and other historic
memorabilia.
St. Jerome Parish Church
Architectural Style: Describe as Baroque highly decorative and theatrical style
Built on: 1620
Observation:
• One of the most precious and divine attraction to this church is the relic
that has a part of the saint's body
• The stone and mortar church which has a three-story facade, and an octagonal bell
tower whose cross is illuminated at night and can be seen from the surrounding
countryside. The bell tower of the church is used by local fisher man in the nearby towns
as a light house when fishing at night and during the storm.
• It has a tower in front with a huge statue of St. Michael the Archangel. The
three-story façade, which was built in 1850-1853 to support a new bell tower
Binondo Church
Architectural Style: The current granite church features an octagonal pagoda-like bell tower
which suggests the Chinese culture.
Built on: The church had been constructed before 1614
Observation:
• A tower is found at the apex of the pediment. At the base of the pediment, along its
central axis, is a small circular window framed by smaller columns and pediment which
are framed by a foliated scroll.
• It is said that Binondo Church has been reconstructed many times due to natural
calamities and only the Bell Tower is what remained of the original 16th century
structure, it has retained the classic architecture that makes the place a wondrous sight
for the most unforgettable occasion.
