Whereas
thedifferencesbetweenUnitedStatesCitizensarehighlighted
Whereas
thereisaneedtopreservethelinguisticunityoftheUSA
Whereas
intercommunalstrifeandconflictmustbeprevented
Whereas
publicpolicymustbeunderstoodbyall
Whereas
thereisaneedtoalignallgovernmentinstitutions
Whereas
thetaxpayersmoneymustbeconserved
Whereas
immigrantsmustbeencouragedtoassimilatetoAmericanlife
Whereas
theoverwhelmingmajorityofAmericancitizenssupporttheadoptionofEnglishasthe
NationalLanguage
Whereas
theoverwhelmingmajorityofstateshavepassedOfficialEnglishLaws
BeitherebyenactedthattheSenateshall:
a) DeclareEnglishtobetheofficiallanguageoftheUnitedStatesofAmerica
b) RequirethatcandidatefornaturalizationhaveEnglishcomprehensionoftheConstitution,
DeclarationofIndependence,andotherimportantgovernmentdocuments,astoberegulatedby
theDepartmentofHomelandSecurity
c) RequirethatallOfficialGovernmentfunctionstobeperformedinEnglish
d) RequirethatallOfficialGovernmentpoliciesbeconductedinEnglish
e) Requirethatpublicandprivatesectorworkplacepolicybeconsistentwiththisact
f) RequirethatpublicandprivateschoolsanduniversitieswillteachinEnglish
