HOWD THEY BECOME INTERESTED: His mother was a photographer so he grew up around it.
He always
took pictures as a kid and his work was shown in New York Galleries. One time
it caught the eye of Andy Warhol who then offered him a job at interview magazine.
TECHNIQUE: His work is loving but also critical. HE includes large social implications.
IMPACT ON SOCIETY: He influences young photographers and shows people its okay to have
weird and different photography styles and to embrace it.

PERSONAL REFLECTION

When I was looking up the photographers for this assignment, David LaChapelles
work really caught my eye. His unique, pop culture photos reflect the kind of photos I
want to do (minus the excessive nudity). He does a great job of having photos with a
lot of different colors and subject matter but manages to never make it look like
theres too much going on at once. Hes a great photographer to learn from and Im
going to try to use his techniques in my work.
