Why is there a need for this lesson?


There is a need for this lesson because children need to feel comfortable and
welcomed in class despite the difference in heritage. This lesson will also help
create an unbiased classroom by understanding that even though we may look
different were still the same.

Today were going to read a book called were different were the same
this book will show us that we all are different yet still the same. Physically
different but internally the same.

group session.

I will star off by reading Were different were the same


During reading teacher will pause and emphasize words that describe the
similarities and differences in one another.
After reading teacher will ask the children to go back to their table and
draw a self portrait of themselves. Using the materials thats place in a bin
on their table.
During the art project teacher will walk around and observe the team and
cooperative work the
After drawing, they will be asked to return to the carpet and share with the
class their self portrait and tell the class what nationality they are.

Teacher will ask students to pick a partner and draw a picture or their
partner.
