What are we doing?
• The 8th grade in Aism, is collecting
scrap paper from the classrooms all
around our school, so that we can
recycle it into new paper, which can
be reused. We will help the
community with getting rid of their
paper waste and make new paper
which they can use for their schools
and other everyday purposes.

What are our goals?
• We want this project to grow big
after a while, so that the community
we are helping, can use its used
paper to recycle it and sell it, for an
extra income, and to use it for their
own needs. We also want this project
to self sustain, so that it will keep
running after a time without our help
and support, and that the project
funds itself fromBackthe income by the
To Home
sold paper.
What have we
accomplished?
So far we have split ourselves into

committees, and each committee

has its own duties and
responsibilities. We have a system of
collecting the paper in school, have a
method for creating paper, and have
a few hundred sheets of paper, which
still needs to improve in quality. We
have also established communication
Back To Home
with the local community.
The papermaking process
• 1. We collect waste paper from all
classrooms in school
2. We rip up the paper and put it in water to
make mush
3. After the mush is soggy after about a week,
we boil the mush to get rid of the smell
4. Then we drain the water out, and “clean” the
water using bleach, remove it and put the mush
into a bucket filled up with water, and cover the
top with mosquito nets
5. We take the paper Backoff the nets and let it dry
To Home

6. We use the sheets of new paper to make

What supports do we still
need?
Although we all give our best in this

project, after 9 months, our project

isn’t quite as far as we wanted it to
be. We don’t necessarily need more
financial and resource support, but
we need more people to help us with
our project, especially on the paper
days ( the Saturdays we make paper
on ), we need people to help us with
our time management
Back To Home
and help us
get more done in our advisory days.
