I did my service learning project for the Vacaville Bengals football team and Mt. Calvary
Baptist Church. I have been a member of Mt calvary for about 2 years now and I have been
helping the Bengals for 3 years now. Both the Church and the team has helped me and built me
into a caring and humble person. I realized that a person has to have an extreme amount of
patience to work with thousands of kids and even more patience for screaming parents who just
might be more excited about the game then the actual players. I have also realized that you can
not judge someone and that everyone has their own relationship with God, I have met so many
fun and humorous people and I am more than grateful. I have had plenty of times when I felt that
my community service and contributions to both the church and the team has made a indefinite
impact on their lives and time.
I chose the the football team because I had already been helping and supporting my
brother and his friends on the team. My youngest brother seemed to be more persevering when I
was on the field which shows me that i make the difference. It felt good to see the look on his
face when he made a touchdown and to be there to give him a dab. I chose the church because it
was something that would bring me closer to God and help me come more involved in the
church. Since becoming more involved In the church, I have made friends whom I now hangout
with on my spare time .
