The Alamo

In December 1835, in the early stages of Texas war for independence from
net Mexico, A group of Texan phone led by George Clin South and
Benjamin Milam overwhelmed the mexican garrison at the Alamo and
captured the fort seizing control of San Antonio. By mid-february
1836,Colonel James Bowie and Lieutenant Colonel William B. Travis had
taken command of Texas.the Alamo was originally called Mission San De
Valero.
The battle of the Alamo started February 25,1836,it ended March
6,1836.The Alamo was a church.The soldiers stayed there because,they
had nowhere else to stay. The battle of Alamo lasted 12 days.The battle of
the Alamo started when the Mexicans fired the first shot.During the battle of
the Alamo the president was,General Santa Anna. Santa Anna married a
15 year old when he was 50,although back then it was very common.He
was kinda a mean president he often left people for his dirty work.
