Local Filmmakers Party All Noche on Oct. 26
Noche Lounge to host networking, fundraising event for area independent film/video group Troy, NY (September 14, 2006) On October 26, 2006, the Albany night club Noche will host a networking party and fundraiser for Upstate Independents (UI), a non-profit organization for independent film and video makers throughout the Capital Region and beyond. Noche, located at 895 Broadway, will host the event from 6:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m., with an open bar from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. The event is open to the public, and all proceeds will go to help support UI and its programs such as the free, staged reading series, Movies Without Pictures. There is a $20 cover charge for the event, and a raffle that guests can participate in for $5 per ticket. By purchasing raffle tickets, guests will be eligible to win a variety of film and video related prizes, including: movie tickets for the Spectrum 7 theater; free annual memberships to Upstate Independents (a $20 value); a walk-on role in an upcoming UI feature or short film; a copy of NY 411, the premier film and video directory of NYC-based resources; a Film Festival Collection DVD set; Final Draft script writing software (a $200 value); and a two-day Film School with Dov Simens class in New York City (a $395 value). Additional prizes are being added to the raffle daily. The attendees will also view a screening of recent film and video works by members of Upstate Independents, which will be shown in rotation during the event.
