Timeline
600 AD - Was the start of the Aztec civilization
they settled in the valley of Mexico.
1100 AD -1100 AD the people called the Mexicas
started looking for place to settle and they arrived
in the valley of Mexico. The Mexicas shifted then.
1325 AD -The Tenochtitlan was built by the Aztecs.
1376 -1395 AD- The first king named
Acamapichitli ruled over Aztec.
1395 1417 AD The second king named
Huitzilihuitzli ruled.
Timeline
1417 1427 AD- The third king
Chimalpopoca ruled.
1519 AD-The Spanish arrived in Tenochtitlan.
This was the end of the Aztec.
There were more than 2 hundred thousand
people after the Spanish arrived.
The Spanish named the Tenochtitlan the
Mexico city.
Government &
Administration
The Aztec government was similar as the
monarchy government when an Emperor of
king rules over the country.
The used to call their emperor or king Huey
Tlatoani.
The Aztec people thought god has
appointed him for the knowledge to rule.
Religious beliefs
The Aztecs worshipped over 500 gods.
The gods used to take turns to be the sun
but one had to sacrifice a lot and be the
sun.
The ancient religion was mainly keeping the
nature balanced and calm.
In respect of gods the Aztecs also had a
place named Teotihuacan which means and
signifies the city of gods.
Currency (Cocoa)
Cocoa beans which was the Mexicos
treasure, was used in trading and was the
currency of Aztec.
The better the quality of Cocoa beans, the
higher value it is in terms of currency.
The quality effected by how it grew and
the quality of the soil and the weather
conditions.

Architecture
Most of the houses that time were very
small like one storey high as no one was
very rich.
Most of the materials for the house were
imported.
The materials for a house was wood, straw,
stone, sand, lime and adobe bricks.
Adobe bricks are made out of water, sand,
clay and straw.

Art
The Aztec themes were based on animals.
They made statues of stone and pottery.
The materials used in art and in other
objects were mostly imported from other
civilizations or people at that time.
The art of different people were traded.
Art was also religion, as the art was related
to gods and were also shown in art objects.

Clothing
The clothes were mostly made out of
cotton.
The clothes were loose and not tight.
The men wore loincloth and tilma.
The women used to wear skirts, sleeve less
blouse and short sleeved shirt.
There was not so much of decoration on
the clothes everyone wore.

Weapons
The sling weapon was made out of the
fibers from the maguey plant.
The slings were used in throwing stones on
the enemy attacking.
The stones were thrown accurately and in
speed by the sling.
Atlatls was very useful in wars it was used
for longer distance and it threw spears.
Weapons
Each different weapon was used for different
purposes.
The most known and used weapon was
maquahuitl.
The maquahuitl weapon was very strong and
was compared with a sword.
The sharp spears were for the warriory.
The bow and arrow was commonly used and all
the Aztecs were skilled with bow and arrow.

The Spanish conquered the Aztecs .
The Spanish people made everyone ill or
die because of the disease they had got
named smallpox.
