This week we will continue to review
the daily routine, colours, feelings
and introduction. This will help
students to remember what was
taught in the previous week.

Phonics

Activity Time
Vocabulary: Duck, duckling, hen, chick, cat, kitten, dog, puppy, frog, tadpole,
kangaroo, joey, horse, foal, cow, calf sheep, lamb, deer, fawn, pig, piglet.
Sentence structure(s):
Question: What animal is this? (Showing the picture of a cat)
Answer: Its a cat.
Question: What do you call a baby cat?
Answer: Kitten.
Question: What is the sound of cat?
Answer: Meow.
Songs: Six little ducks, Did you ever see my tail? Old MacDonald had a farm.
Activities:
This week we will continue the animals and their young topic. But this time students will
learn how to ask and answer simple questions.
Games:
Dont Drop It! Students will sit in a circle. Use a ball and toss it to one student. But you
must say one animal word as you pass. The student then throws to another student and
says a different animal word. If the student you threw it to drops it or cant think of an
animal word within a few seconds, he/she is out. The game keeps going until you have
one winner.
Blindfold Guess: Have students sit in a circle. Blindfold two students and let them find
each other using the animal sound. Dont let the blindfolded students move outside the
circle.

Review
We will review the sound of each
letter using the jolly phonics song.

New (letters/sounds/vocabulary)
This week we will learn the short a sound. (ax, yak, cat, ant, dam, yam, jam,
ram, bat, hat, mat, can, man, van, fan, pan)
Homework/ Craft Work/writing

We will make an animal mask for
their craft this week
HOMEWORK:
For their homework, they will
identify the young ones of the
given animal. They will circle the
correct answer and color it.
