Mainlanders, rise!

By Dylan, Jenni, and Melva

Our Goal
Our goal was to take out this textbook as a
whole from PPS High Schools and
implementing a current curriculum.
Taking it out will prevent future students from
being miseducated on a topic that is ever so
changing in the modern world.

Problems with Modern World History

Heres the lay down on our concerns with this wack textbook :
Too short to explain ALL of Climate Change. It is literally two
pages back and forth.
Language. The section is called Environmental Challenges with
words that make Climate Change sound like it can be resolved
easily. Only one heading says some concerns are Unsolved.
Natural Subsections on the pages keep referring to Climate
change as a natural event. But there is so much evidence that
shows
Does not include voices. There is not one reference to the
Indigenous People affected by Climate Change.

ACTION
Kris Russo, the Superintendent Assistant of Portland Public Schools,
came to meet us about our concerns.
