The project was to build a sturdy bridge in five days.

It wasnt much of a
challenge to complete, it took us a day we were the first to finish. We used
popsicles sticks and hot glue. The design we used was the Camelback.

The parts of a bridge are

Deck: the part of the bridge where things can cross

Struts: a rod or bar forming part of a framework and designed to resist
compression.
Sway Bracing: a brace to prevent swaying
Stringers: a longitudinal structural in a framework, especially that of a ship or
aircraft.
Lateral Bracing: any pieces on a bridge that help keep the bridge from
twisting
Floor Beams: A large beam used in a bridge floor at right angles to the
direction of the roadway, to transfer loads to bridge supports.

Portal Strut: horizontal rigidly joining the tops of two uprights, especially in a
portal frame
