National Internship by Swachh Bharat Mission

- Spread School Level Awareness via Swachhta Pledge Programs


Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Also known as "Clean India Mission" or "Swachh Bharat Mission") is a national
campaign by the Government of India, covering 4,041 statutory cities and towns, to clean the streets,
roads and infrastructure of the country. It is India's biggest ever cleanliness drive in which 3 million
government employees, school and college students of India have participated in. The Ministry of Urban
Development has now announced this National Internship Program for students from all colleges
across the country - Via OysterConnect.com. The intent of the program is to involve the College Student
Community in a proactive manner to participate and contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission.

Create a List of Target Schools in your Locality


Contact the School Management to Take Appointments for the Pledge Programs
Conduct the Pledge Programs on the scheduled Dates & Time
Upload the Pictures & Pledge Form on Swachh Bharats Website Link
Submit an Idea Essay along with Project Report

STEP 1:
Create a List of 12 Schools in your Locality whom you will target for conducting the Pledge
Program. Your target is to cover 10 schools under the Pledge Program. However, keep a buffer of 2 or
more schools in case you don't receive a positive response from everybody.
You are required to upload the list of schools & all subsequent status updates on individual Team
Specific Google Drive Sheets - Click Here to Access the Status Update Link for your Team.
STEP 2:
Contact the Top Management (Principals/ Assistants & Secretaries of Principals) of these
schools to finalize the Date & Time to conduct Swachh Bharat Pledge Program in their
schools (Via a Phone Call followed by an Email). Follow up every alternate day via Phone & Email until
you get the Confirmed Date to conduct the Pledge Program in the respective schools.

Once you have called the schools using the Phone Call Pitch mentioned above, Send this Email
to them immediately.
Dont forget to Attach the Authorization Letter. It's your ticket to getting into these schools.

STEP 3:
The Pledge Program consists On the scheduled Date, go to the schools and complete the following
activities as part of the Pledge Program:
A. Get students from the schools to take the Swachhta Pledge (In English or Hindi)
verbally. This can be done in 2 ways:
You announce the Pledge via the Schools PA (Public Announcement) system. The students
stand up in their own classes and repeat the pledge after you.
Or, the School calls all its students at the Assembly Ground, where you announce the Pledge
on the microphone and they repeat after you.
B. Get the Principal to Sign & Stamp on a Pledge Form confirming the Number of Students
who took the Pledge that day and that the Pledge Program has been conducted in their school

B. Take Pictures & Videos of the Pledge Taking & Signing.

B. Inform the School that they will be receiving a Swachh Bharat Certificate & Creative via Email
(Within a week of the Pledge Program). Get the correct Email Address on which they
want the Certificate to be forwarded.

STEP 4:
After visiting each school, do the following:
1. Log In on the Link: https://auth.mygov.in/user/login?destination=oauth2/authorize
2. Once logged in, you will be taken to a Page that looks like this:

3. Click on Mass Pledge and fill up the form for each school you have visited. This

4. Click on Submit Activity and fill up the form for each school you have visited. This

Both these forms will require you to upload 4 Pictures & 1 Video of the activity that
you conducted in each of the schools. Choose pictures to upload as follows:
One picture of students taking the Pledge Verbally.
One picture of the Principal signing the Pledge Form.
One picture of the Pledge Certificate/ Signed Pledge Form for the specific school.
One picture of you handing over the Pledge Certificate to the Principal.
6. Take Screenshots while filling these forms. Submit the Screenshots & the Pictures you
have uploaded to OysterConnect Team (Email them to shirin.garg@oysterconnect.com/
koyeli.saha@oysterlearning.com)
6. Update the progress status on your Team Update Sheet (Click Here to Access the Status
Update Link for your Team)
STEP 5:
Create a Project Document containing the following items:

Brief Project Report outlining the work you have done as a part of this program (Mention
Numbers in a Table or Chart Format) - Not more than 2 Pages.
An Idea Essay: In the next part of the Students will be asked to present their ideas and solutions
for Swachh Bharat in 3000 word essay. The idea note will necessarily have to articulate the
impact and execution details. The solution provided will have to assume a real time problem in an
area within 5 km of where a student resides. The most innovative and well detailed out idea will
get a special recognition certificate from the Jury.

Pledge Text - In English & Hindi (To be read out verbally at the time of Student Pledge taking)
Pledge Form (To be Filled, Signed & Stamped by the Principal)
Detailed Pledge Program Schedule (For you to follow on the day of the Pledge Program)

Other Must-Haves while visiting Schools:


A Smart-phone or Any Phone with a good camera (You should be able to Take Pictures & Record
Videos on this phone)
