This project poster summarizes a student's individual project analyzing and designing leaf springs. The project aimed to design leaf springs for a commercial light vehicle under various load conditions and compare the load capacity, deflection, and stresses of composite versus steel leaf springs. The student conducted theoretical calculations, modeled the leaf spring in SolidWorks, analyzed it under different loads, plotted results, and compiled the data into a project report concluding the composite leaf spring design was suitable and produced less stress than steel under the same loads.

To design the leaf spring for various load condition.
To compare the load carrying capacity, deflection and the stresses generated between a composite leaf spring and steel leaf spring. To analyse the deflection in leaf spring by using different loads.
PROJECT OUTLINE CONCLUSION
The project report was carried out in the
following order:
Studying in detail about leaf springs.
Doing theoretical calculations for various load conditions. Designing the leaf spring in SolidWorks. Analysing the designed leaf spring for various load conditions. Plotting graphs for the analysed results Compiling all the data into a project report.
SolidWorks Analysis
This project report is done for a commercial light vehicle,
and the design and analysis results shows that the composite material leaf spring can be manufactured and used as the design is suitable for all the loading conditions. The deflection we got by both the theoretical and SolidWorks results tells us that the deflection in composite leaf spring is more than of the steel leaf spring but the stresses produced due to the different loading conditions tells that the stresses in composite leaf spring is very less than that of a steel leaf spring.
