An Application for the Post of Junior Research Analyst
With reference to your advertisement as posted in the Jobstreet.com website on 15 th March 2016, I
wish to apply for the position of Junior Research Analyst in your company.
I will graduate from University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) in September 2016 with a degree in
Computational Mathematics. My formal education and work experience have adequately prepared me
with the skills and knowledge required for this position.
To fully equip myself with the fundamental knowledge and skills in the field, I took several
Mathematics courses, such as Mathematical Method, Operational Research, Numerical Analysis and
obtained good results. I have also taken Japanese language as an elective for learning purpose. In
addition, I also mastered uses of Microsoft Office (Excel), C++ Programming language, and other
Statistical Packages such as SPSS, R- Language, Mathlab and Mathematica.
I have also gained variable experience while conduct my final year project. From my project I learned
to use R-Language to do my research successfully. This project provided me with strong insight in
statistical model and obtained thesis writing skill.
I participated in extra-curricular activities during my campus life, which has strengthened my
communication and interpersonal skills. In addition, to these skills, I also possess leadership qualities
and a passion for work in this field. I am sure that my educational background together with my
experience and enthusiasm would be extremely relevant to this position and your company.
