To Whom It May Concern:
Re: Sara Nyitrai
It is my pleasure to write this letter of reference for Sara Nyitrai, whom I
met in February of 2014 when she was doing her Introductory
Professional Term at Westminster Junior High School in Edmonton,
Alberta. I am a former teacher and was a school principal for the last 10
years of my 33 years career with the Edmonton Catholic School District.
Ms. Nyitrai’s assignment was to teach grade eight science to two IB
classes and one regular class. She had a thorough mastery of subject
matter and developed clear and detailed lesson plans with relevant
objectives. Sara used teaching strategies that included excellent power
point presentations, lab demonstrations, and group activities which kept
students focused and engaged in learning. Sara accepted suggestions for
improvement from her mentor teacher and strengthened her
instructional and class management skills.
Sara conducted herself in a friendly and professional manner and
demonstrated a commitment to being an active member of the teaching
staff. Demonstrating her willingness to participate in projects outside
the classroom she assisted with painting of props for the school drama
production, Starmites, assisted with the knitting club and participated in
the dodge ball tournament with her fellow student teachers.
I feel Ms. Nyitrai is a suitable and strong candidate for the teaching
profession and, given the attributes and enthusiasm she demonstrated
during her IFX, I am confident that she will continue to further develop
her skills during her Advanced Professional Term.
I would gladly provide any further information that you may require by
phone at 780-430-7084 or by e-mail at mhrynew@telusplanet.net.
Sincerely, _,
