The SCI, India’s premier shipping company has a significant presence on the
global maritime map. The SCI occupies the Numero Uno position with its position
with its large and diversified fleet, operating in nearly all segments of shipping
viz., break –bulk service, container services, liquid and dry bulk services,
offshore services and passenger services. The Company also mans and
manages vessels on behalf of various government bodies. The SCI continues to
grow through strategic alliances and new business opportunities. The SCI
recorded a profit after tax of Rs.940.7crore on turnover of Rs.4166.6crores for
the Financial Year 2008-09.

THE SHIPPING CORPORATION OF INDIA Ltd., a NAVRATNA PSU, invites

applications from recognized institutions for summer training of their students
undergoing Management courses. No application will be entertained directly from
students. Each Institute may send up to 5 resumes only. The Internship
programme will be at our various departments in offices in Mumbai as well as
Chennai and Kolkata. The SCI needs approximately 25 summer trainees.

The interns shall be given a stipend of Rs.5000/- per month. The duration of the
training shall not exceed 2 months. The resumes should indicate the marks of
graduation, first year or semester marks of the students, on which basis, the
students will be selected for summer Internship.

Institutes may please note that no accommodation shall be provided Local

students who have accommodation in Mumbai /Kolkata/ Chennai may be given
preference. No reimbursement of transportation shall be made to the selected
candidates. Trainees may undergo their internship for the period of two months
depending on the schedule of their internship in the month of April to May or May
to June, 2010. This may be indicating on their resume. The last date for sending
resumes is 15th of February 2010.
