The document discusses green building materials and methods. It describes LEED's 5 steps for ensuring new buildings are environmentally friendly and cost-effective. These include sustainable site development, water and energy efficiency, material selection, and indoor air quality. Straw bales are highlighted as an insulating material that uses agricultural waste and increases home value. Storage containers are mentioned as a building material well-suited for constructing tall, narrow urban homes through stacking.

Straw Bales
The straw bales are being used as an
insulator. This idea is a good because one, they are made from waste products and the farmers who harvests the straw gets paid. Another reason it is good is because homes with thicker walls are more expensive, so your house would be worth more. That also means you can have window seats.

Storage Containers
The use of the containers are used in the city
where they have to build tall, skinny houses, so they use two containers wide and two container tall and they can just stack them on top of each other. Then they cut the center walls out and use them as the building base material and put insulation and everything on top.
