Rabbi Laa tatharni fardaw wa anta khairul waaritheen.

(O my Lord! Leave me not single (childless), though You are the Best of the inheritors).”

(Surah Ambiyaa, Verse 89)

Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibatan innaka samee’ al-du’aa’ (O my Lord! Grant me from You
a good offspring. You are indeed the All-Hearer of invocation).

1. The above duas were the duas of Nabi Zakariyya (as):

َ ِ‫ارث‬ َ ‫ِب ال تَ َذ ْرنِي َف ْر ًدا َوأَ ْن‬
َ ‫ت‬ ِّ EF ‫َو َز َك ِريَّا إِ ْذ نَا َدى َربَّ ُه َر‬

(Anbiya': 59)

َ َّ‫بَ ًة إِن‬EF‫يَّ ًة طَ ِِّي‬EF‫ك ُذ ِِّر‬

‫ك‬ َ ‫ن لَ ُد ْن‬
ْ ‫ب لِي ِم‬
ْ ‫ه‬
َ ‫ِب‬ َ ‫ك َد َعا َز َك ِريَّا َربَّ ُه َقا‬
ِّ EF ‫ل َر‬ َ ِ‫ه َنال‬ ُ
‫يع ال ُّد َعا ِء‬
ُ ‫م‬ ِ ‫س‬ َ

(Aal 'Imran: 38)

And we know that his having a child was a miracle, since he was very old when it happened and his wife
was barren.

‫) سورة نوح‬13( ‫) َما لَ ُك ْم اَل َت ْر ُجو َن لِلَّ ِه َوقَ ًارا‬12( ‫َّات َوجَيْ َع ْل لَ ُك ْم أَْن َه ًارا‬
ٍ ‫وبنِني وجَي عل لَ ُكم جن‬

10- I said to them: «Invoke your Creator's forgiveness; He has always been Forgiving and has
always relented, and quit those who solemnly repented, all His debt».

11- «He shall pour down upon you rain and blessings that may bring you into people of Condition»,

12- «and bestow on you wealth, progeny and manpower, and gardens and orchards abounding in
streams and rivers, and make all grace abound in you».

13- «Why are you people notably deficient in real reverence for Allah's Authority and you do not entertain
the profound reverence dutiful to Him.
