A Fishy Tale!

The 2nd Pond gets new residents.

For those interested, our Vets Section, under the Leadership of
Edwin Longfellow, have acquired a significant quantity of fish
for the 2nd pond.
Early attempts to catch the fish, called Golden Orfe, from the
pond at Grange Park Golf Club, were reported to be more like
the early rounds of It’s a Knockout. Sadly, Eddie Waring and
Stuart Hall were not available to commentate.
But the Vets are nothing if not persistent, and changing tack to
rod and line, from trusty bucket, did the trick. They caught Golden Orfe
around a hundred, and they have been deposited safely in our wa-
ters.
We already had a handful of native fish, but we can now look for-
ward to a more colourful view. There is also a small amount of
money that has been raised, again by donations from the Vets
Section. That will be used to buy more similar fish of differing
ages to try to give the fish the best chance of establishing them-
selves.
There is also talk of Edwin putting in 3 large black Koi Carp,
which again should give the pond an interesting future.
Hopefully you will join me in thanking them all for their efforts,
and appreciating yet more Members giving a little back.
