Creating map using MapInfo program:

1. If the site you are going to integrate is a new site so you have to add this site
to the Reel OPC file first [and if it is an old site so it’s created previously].

2. supposing that the site is a new one so all you have to do is that:

¾ Open the Reel OPC with MS Excel.


¾ At the end of the file add your site with the same file formatting.
¾ You have to be sure form the site Name, Coordinates & azimuths.

¾ Save the file as text (Tab delimited) and press OK.


3. Open MapInfo program:

Select (open a table)


From the Quick start
window choices.

4. Open the updated Reel OPC file at the MapInfo and make sure that you are
opening it as a Delimited ASCII file format.
5. From the Delimited ASCII Information window select Tab & mark [use first
Line for Column titles] and press OK.

6. From the main menu select File>>Run Map Basic Program and open the
MBX called A955MP14
7. From the main menu select Query >> Create base stations & press Yes.

8. Open the Reel OPC table that you created by running the MBX file then save
the map table file with the any name you want.
9. Adjust the values in the BTS vectorisation window and press OK as follows:

10. From the create point window press Projection & select form category
Universal transverse meractor (WGS 84) and UTM zone 36 Northern and
press OK.
11. The sites map will be appeared as shown.

12. View sites labels by opening the layer control window.


13. Press on Label button to choose the label format [mark ok on the check box to
make it visible].

¾ After pressing on the Label button the label option window will appear which
enables us to select & control the sites labels format.
¾ Form Styles button we can control & select the text format as shown.
¾ Finally press OK to view the sites labels on the map.

14. By using Zoom in/out tool we can focus in/out the sites map.
15. Now we can add the roads & streets to the map where we can navigate to reach
the site which we want to integrate, and press OK.
16. Searching for a site using the site name or the cell ID.

¾ From the main menu select Table>> Maintenance>> Table structure and select
your sites map file which you want to search for a site within [IZ_HOSNY].

¾ Select form the modify table structure window the way that we will search with
[mark on both CELL_NAME & CI] and press OK.
17. Press CTRL+F where the Find window will appears which from we can choose
the searching criteria & the used marking symbol format as shown:

18. After pressing OK in the previous windows a new window will appear where
write the site name & press OK.
19. the required site will be marked as shown:
