What is Management?
 Management is simply an act of getting people
together to accomplish desired goals & obectives.
 It comprises of certain functions –
– Planning
– Organizing
– Staffing
– Leading
– Controlling
– Motivating
 Planning: Deciding what needs to happen in
the future and generating plans for action.

 Organizing: (Implementation) making


optimum use of the resources required to
enable the successful carrying out of plans.

 Staffing: Recruitment, and hiring individuals


for appropriate jobs.
 Leading: Showing a way to people, Determining
what needs to be done in a situation.
 Controlling: Monitoring, checking progress
against plans, and seeing whether they require
any modifications.
 Motivating: the process of stimulating an
individual to take action that will accomplish a
desired goal.

 A framework of processes and procedures, used to
ensure that an organization can fulfill all tasks
required to achieve its objectives.

 It helps the organization to achieve the goals through


a number of strategies, including process
optimization, management focus and disciplined
management thinking.
