Ministry for the Sick and Homebound
We are grateful to those who give of their time and
care to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners
who cannot make it to church due to sickness or in-
firmity. If you know of anyone who would like to re-
ceive communion in their home or while hospitalized
at West Lincoln Hospital, please contact the parish
office.
SVDP Society
Who are we? - The Society of St. Vincent de Paul
founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam in Paris, is
dedicated to the service of those in need throughout
the world. St. Helen's Council presently has six ac-
tive members that volunteer their time.
What do we do? - We help our needy neighbours
that live within the boundaries of St. Helen. All calls
are screened and a home visit is arranged with 2
members attending.
How are we supported? - The poor box in the ves-
tibule of the church is our main means of support.
How can you donate? - A cheque made out to St.
Helen St. Vincent de Paul can be dropped in the
poor box or the Sunday collection. There are also
St. Vincent de Paul envelopes available for cash do-
nations. Tax receipts are issued in January.
We continue to collect Canadian Tire money to pur-
70 chase raffle prizes for fundraising events. It can be
brought to the office or in the collection basket.

Grounds Maintenance
St Helen's Lawn Care Teams are
in need of anyone that would have
a riding lawnmower, push mower
and or a trimmer that can be
transported to and from the church along with a
spare few hours every 4-5 weeks to help with the
Lawn Maintenance around the St. Helen's church
property. The season runs from about April to the
end of September to early October. The pay is poor
but the fun is unlimited. Anyone interested in this
ministry please contact Craig Luey. (Contact infor-
mation is on the front of the Church Bulletin)

Lifted Up Into Life

God’s voice confirms that Jesus’ passion is ap-

As our Lenten journey
draws to a close, we come
closer to the brutal day of our
Lord’s crucifixion. We know
that darkness will come, but in
the new light the Resurrection
will shine its hope upon us all.
When we confess our sins
and are forgiven, the chalkboard of our hearts is
wiped clean. And then, as the Lord said in the Book
of Jeremiah, “I will place my law within them and
write it upon their hearts.” And, in today’s psalm,
we joyfully sing “Create a clean heart in me, O God.”
Then, the words from Hebrews light our way, re-
membering the obedience of Jesus in accepting his
suffering and becoming the source of eternal salva-

Reconciliation/Adoration
On Saturday, March 17 in every
parish church across the dio-
cese, a priest will be available
from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. to
celebrate Reconciliation individ-
ually. There will also be Eucha-
ristic Adoration during this time. No matter how long
it has been, you are welcome to celebrate the Sacra-
ment of Penance, which assists us in spiritual disci-
pline as we turn away from sin and open our hearts
to reconciliation and healing -- or you can also simp-
ly come to pray before the Lord.

HAM ROLL - 50/50 TICKETS
This weekend, before and after all
Masses, you can purchase a 50/50
ticket which will be drawn at the Ham
Roll on Friday March 23rd. The win-
ning ticket will receive half of the pro-
ceeds from the ticket sales. Winner will be contact-
ed and does not need to be present to receive prize.
Tickets are $5 each.
Adult Faith Formation Series: Exploring
Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation Amo-
ris Laetitia, The Joy of Love
This faith formation series is being held on four con-
secutive Monday evenings, beginning April 9, 2018,
7-9pm., at the Catholic Centre, 3400 Merrittville
Highway, Thorold, L2V 4Y6. Register online at

$10 will be collected on the first night to cover the

Easter Flowers
We wonderfully enhance our worship by adorning
our church with glorious flowers that announce
“Christ is Risen!” Envelopes for Easter Flowers and
décor are available in the pew racks or vestibule of
the church and can be returned with the collection.

YOUth Blasters upcoming gatherings will be at the
