English Training

 English training is one of the most valuable ways in which Ryder improves its customer
service.
 Our English training system aims to improve English language skills in the company,
making our communication with customers better and easier.
 Our English Training System incorporates…
 1. Multi-Level Testing: we aim to provide English classes tailor made for individual
staff according to their skill level and the requirements of their work.
 2. Multidimensional Training Effect Evaluation: we measure training effect to
achieve optimal results for the learner and make continuous improvements to the
system.

 - Business English: English Speaking and Email Writing Courses
 - Technical English: Mechanical and Electronics English Courses
 - Social English: Daily English Communication Courses
 English Corner
 To meet the staff’s increasing demand for learning English, we organise an English
corner three times a month, which is hosted by our foreign teacher or by our internal
facilitators.
 English Presentation Competition
 - This is an activity newly launched in 2009, designed to offer our staff a chance to
practice presentation skills, enhance their confidence, and of course, show their
talents!
 - For the 2009 contest, the topic was “Company Presentations”. 50 people entered,
and we were happy to see that around 80 people showed up to watch each round of
the competition!
 - Our colleagues were greatly motivated by the competition, and have become more
confident about using their English in public. Therefore, we plan to make it a yearly
activity.
 Coordination and development of English Training
 Ryder’s English Training activities are mostly handled by an internal professional
facilitator team set up two years ago. We also draw on external resources, working
with specialist training centers to bring in new learning concepts and methods that
are shared within the company. We invite foreign tutors to give lectures and courses
to the staff from time to time, which helps enhance the English learning atmosphere
throughout the company.
