    NOTIFICATION

    New Delhi, the 28th May, 2001

    S.O. 474(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 61


    of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 (53 of 1972), the Central Government, being of
    the opinion that it is expedient so to do, hereby makes the following addition to the
    Schedule I of the said Act with immediate effect.

    In Schedule I to the said Act

    After Part II, the following shall be added, namely:—

    “Part II A — Fishes

    1—Whale shark (Rhincodon typus)”
