Smt.G.S. College was established in Jaggayyapet,
Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, India in 1968 with a noble aim
of catering to the higher educational needs of the weaker
sections of the society in this backward area. Presently it offers
Intermediate, U.G & P.G. Courses in various disciplines.
Located very close to the town on a 15 acre area, it has excellent
infrastructural facilities like well-equipped labs, well-stacked
library, spacious class rooms the internet, the language lab and
vast playground. Above all, the college has a tempting ambience
conducive to learning.
About Jaggayyapet
Jaggayyapet is 4 kms away from Chillakallu which lies
on the High Way No.9 connecting Hyderabad and Vijayawada.
It is a small town surrounded by several holy places like Lord
Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy Temple, Vedadri, Lord Venkateswara
swamy temple, Tirumalagiri, Bhavani Mukteswaraswamy
Temple, Muktyala and Sri Lakshmi Tirupathamma –
Gopaiahswamy Temple, Penuganchiprolu. In its neibourhood
there are a large number of Cement Industries which have
brought a recognition for the town at the national level.
About the Dept. of Maths, ANU
It is specialized in the fields of Rings and Modules,
Near-rings, Gamma-near-rings, Fuzzy Algebra and Graph
Theory. It achieved Four Major Research Projects from the
UGC. Prof. Davuluri Ramakotaiah, Father of the Dept., was
University Vice-Chancellor during 1988-91. Prof. Bhavanari
Satyanaryana, Academic Secretary of the present seminar
received INSA Visiting Fellowship Award -2005, ANU Best
Paper Award-2006, AP Scientist-2009 Award. He was a selected
scientist by UGC-HAS (Hungarian Academy of Science)-2003,
introduced Algebraic System Gama Near Ring in 1984.
About A.I.M.Ed.
Born in 1978, the association based in Vijayawada aims
to create an interest and awareness of Maths in the learners at the
school level, organizes a State Level Competitive Exam in Maths
every year, publishes quarterly magazine,“Ganitha Chandrika ”
and strives to augment the relationship between the teacher and
the taught and bring hidden talents.
About the Seminar :
As Mathematics is one of the most important
subjects and plays a vital role in all braches of science, the
Dept. of Maths of the college, in association with University
Grants Commission and in collaboration with Dept. of
Maths, ANU, Guntur, Association for Improvement of
Maths Education, Vijayawada and State Bank of
Hyderabad, Jaggayyapet Branch, is organizing a National
Seminar on “Present Trends in Mathematics and its
Applications” from 11th to 12th November 2010 so as to
highlight its significance in relation to its need for every
branch of science in the present scenario. The main
objective of the seminar is to bring together the eminent
academicians and the young researchers to share their latest
ideas and help one another on the topics of common interest
in the research programmes.
The seminar also provides a forum for “Problem
Solving Session for Maths School Teachers” on the second
day from 2 p.m.

• Near-rings and Gama Near Ring
• Fuzzy Algebra
• Graph Theory
Call for Papers
Papers on the above themes are invited along with
an abstract, one in hard copy and one in soft copy in MS.
Word, Times New Roman 12 point by the organizing
secretary, latest by 25th October 2010. Selected papers will
be published in book form. Papers may also be e-mailed.
