Your favorite restaurant has had the same menu for a while now. They want to
attract a younger crowd with an updated menu. They ask you to help them pick
new items for their menu. They ask you to come up with some recipes and also
find out how much it would cost for each recipe. They specifically want to get a
new appetizer, a meal involving chicken, a meal involving beef, a vegetarian
meal, and a new desert. You may have to find another recipe for aside dish
to go with the dinners (chicken, beef, vegetarian) if it does not come with
one.
TASK:
1. You need to find the 5 recipes (in computer lab with me).
a. Appetizer
b. Beef meal
c. Chicken meal
d. Vegetarian Meal
e. Desert
2. Go to the grocery store and get prices (DO NOT BUY THESE ITEMS)
a. Please copy ingredients onto chart for each recipe BEFORE you go
to the store, this will save you a lot of time.
b. Make sure that you take down how much you get for each item.
That way you know if you need to “purchase” more than one.
3. Figure out total cost for each recipe (check a couple times)
4. If necessary how much per serving
5. Write a page including paragraphs about:
a. Why you picked these recipes?
b. What you learned from this project.
Please hand in project in a binder to keep organized, and in this order.

When collecting your recipes, these sites may help. Also
look for a “print this recipe” button on the page. This will
take away all the advertisements and make your project
look better.
